TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama soccer's Kat Rogers was one of 14 student-athletes named to the SEC Community Service Team for soccer, the league office announced Tuesday. The junior midfielder was recognized for going above and beyond in her efforts to give back to the community.
Rogers was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) executive board, where she served as the organization's community service chair. During the year, she facilitated opportunities for volunteers to read virtually with local children through Project Angel Tree and Alberta Head Start. Rogers, alongside her fellow SAAC members, also created a dance video for a Night to Shine that was played for children with special needs. As a response to the 2020-21 pandemic, Rogers was part of a SAAC initiative that sent letters of appreciation to members of the Alabama staff.
In addition to her role with SAAC, Rogers is an active member of the Emerging Tide Leaders Academy. The two-year program is designed to develop and enhance leadership characteristics in Alabama student-athletes. Rogers concluded her junior year with a 4.0 grade point average in management.
