
Eight-Run Fourth Inning Propels Alabama Softball to 14-6 Run-Rule Over Texas A&M

The Crimson Tide swept its weekend series with the Aggies, outscoring them 33-15
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball completed the weekend sweep over Texas A&M with a 14-6 run-rule win Saturday afternoon at Rhoads Stadium.
Alabama (29-4, 9-3 SEC) fell behind early after a two-run first inning from Texas A&M (25-8, 4-5 SEC) but quickly rallied back with three in the bottom half to take the lead. The Aggies moved back ahead with three runs in the third to lead 5-3 before the Crimson Tide surged back ahead with an eight-run fourth inning in which 14 batters came to the plate. Texas A&M got a run back in the fifth, but Alabama scored three unanswered in the next two innings to cap the run-rule in six innings, 14-6.
The Crimson Tide offense tied its season high with 16 hits, led by three-hit performances from Alexis Mack and Savannah Woodard. Alabama had a pair of home runs on the day, including a three-run shot from Bailey Hemphill and a grand slam from Kaylee Tow, part of a career-high five RBIs for the Madisonville, Ky., native.
Krystal Goodman (3-0) earned the win in relief, throwing 2.1 innings with just one unearned run on two hits. Texas A&M threw four pitchers in the losing effort, with Grace Uribe (6-3) taking the loss.

- Hemphill's home run gives her 56 for her career, just one shy of Kaila Hunt and Charlotte Morgan in second place in UA history with 58 and four shy of Kelly Kretschman's record of 60
