Alabama’s First Varsity 8+ Wins Big 12 Boat of the Week

The crew won a pair of races at last weekend’s Big 10 Invitational
IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced Alabama's First Varsity 8+ as its Boat of the Week on Wednesday.
The Crimson Tide's 1V8+ crew earned a pair of wins at last weekend's Big 10 Invitational. They opened the competition with a 6:27.568 finish to defeat No. 9 Tennessee, No. 15 Wisconsin and No. 17 Minnesota. The following day, they came away with another victory with a winning time of 6:39.392, again defeating the Badgers along with Louisville and No. 16 Iowa.
The crew consisted of Izzie Gonzales, Claudia Mecchia, Darcy Jennings, Gianna Rucki, Brittany Hill, Ella Kemna, Ella Maggio, Gabrielle Krieger and Rebekah Stewart.
Alabama rowing returns to the water this Saturday at the Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas.
