
Alabama Women’s Golf Team Finishes Second Round of SEC Tournament Play

Benedetta Moresco shot 2-under par to lead the way for the Tide in day two
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –The Alabama women's golf team finished the second round of the SEC Championship at Greystone Golf and Country Club’s par-72, 6,112-yard Legacy Course. Benedetta Moresco led the way for the Crimson Tide after shooting a 2-under par 70 in today’s round.
Alabama (280-289/569) is tied for seventh place after posting a team score of 1-over par 289. LSU (272-276/548) leads the tournament at 28-under par. Individually, Polly Mack sits in a tie for 16th place, five strokes behind Pauline Roussin-Bouchard of South Carolina.
“It was really a rocky start, and when I say start, I mean the first 15 holes,” Alabama head coach Mic Potter said. “That said, I was proud of how this team finished today. They had some fight and made some birdies and an eagle when we had to have it. I feel like we are headed in the right direction as a team, but we have to take control of our own destiny tomorrow and finish with a really good round of golf.”
Leading the Lineup
- Benedetta Moresco recorded four birdies on her way to a 2-under par 70.
- Polly Mack recorded two birdies and an eagle to finish at even-par 72. She continues to lead the field in scoring average on par 5s, averaging 4.13 strokes per hole.
- Kenzie Wright tallied three birdies to shoot a 1-over par 73.
- Emilie Øverås is tied for 44th after making four birdies in her second time around the course.
- Caroline Curtis turned in a 7-over par 79 to round out the group.
