Alabama’s Kevin Li Reaches 3-meter Final on NCAA Zone B Diving Championships Day One

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Alabama's Kevin Li finished 13^th off the 3-meter springboard on day one of the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships being held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C. this week. Li is one four Crimson Tide divers competing at the Zone B meet for a chance to advance to the upcoming NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

Day One Results

Kevin Li advanced to the finals of the 3-meter springboard, taking 13th with 682.40 points over 12 dives
Li tallied 341.30 points in finals after totaling 341.10 points across his first six dives in prelims
Hunter Jaynes finished in 21st place after scoring 303.10 points in prelims of the 3-meter board
Halia Bower took 23rd place off the women's 1-meter with a score of 238.60 points in prelims
Tanesha Lucoe scratched out of the 1-meter event

The 2021 Zone B Championships

While swimmers qualify for the upcoming NCAA Championships by virtue of times posted during the season, divers qualify exclusively through the five Zone meets
Each Zone has a set number of slots per event
Zone B has seven spots off both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events and eight off the platform for women
For the men, Zone B has 10 slots off the 1-meter and eight each off the 3-meter board and platform
There are 66 divers from 15 different schools at the Zone B Championships, including SEC rivals Auburn, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee
In addition to hosting both the Zone B and Zone A meets, Greensboro is also the site of the men's and women's 2021 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships
On Monday, the men will compete off the platform, while the women head to the 3-meter
The men close the meet with the 1-meter, while women finish out the meet with the platform event on Wednesday
