The Crimson Tide recorded its third win and third shutout of the 2020-21 season

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's soccer team continued their winning ways by shutting out Montevallo, 1-0, on Thursday night at the Alabama Soccer Field. The victory over the Falcons extended UA's winning streak to three games during the spring 2021 slate.

Alabama came out strong in the first half, holding a significant advantage in time of possession. Midfielder Reyna Reyes highlighted that first half with a goal in the 32^nd minute. The goal came in Reyes' first game back as she scored on a 1v1 with the Montevallo goalkeeper. Alabama also out-shot the Falcons (5-3) and held the advantage in corner kicks (3-0) in the first half.

Both teams came back from the halftime break with an offensive mindset as each squad recorded six shots apiece in the final 45 minutes of play. The Tide was able to post the shutout thanks to strong play between the posts from goalkeeper McKinley Crone who registered two saves for the night for her fourth shutout of the 2020-21 season.

Behind the Win

The Crimson Tide held the advantage in shots with 11 compared to nine by the Falcons.
Eight Crimson Tide players collected at least one shot for the night.
Alabama also held the advantage in corner kicks, recording four to Montevallo's one.
Eight UA players totaled at least 80 minutes of action in Thursday's match.
Reyes made her spring debut and registered her first goal for the 2021 season.
Midfielder Felicia Knox led the Tide offensively, firing off three shots.
