STARKVILLE, Miss. – The No. 24 Alabama men's golf team finished play in the opening round of the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship on Friday afternoon, carding a team score of 9-over par 297. The Crimson Tide will enter Saturday's second round in 14^th position overall.

LSU, ranked No. 25 in the Golfstat team rankings, holds the clubhouse lead at 7-under 281, two strokes better than No. 10 Vanderbilt (283) and No. 13 Georgia (283). Ninth-ranked Texas A&M (285) is in fourth while No. 21 Tennessee (286) and East Tennessee State (286) round out the top five.
