
Alabama Soccer Returns to Tuscaloosa to Host Auburn Saturday

The Tide will be looking to extend its winning streak versus the Tigers to three
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama soccer team is back in Tuscaloosa to host the Auburn Tigers on Saturday, March 27th, at the Alabama Soccer Stadium. The match is scheduled for a 2 p.m. CT kickoff in what will be the 30th meeting between the Crimson Tide and the Tigers in program history.
In compliance with CDC and state public health guidance, seating in the Alabama Soccer Stadium will be socially distanced resulting in capacity to the first 250 fans in attendance. Masks are required for entry and must be worn at all times while not eating or drinking.
About Alabama
- Head coach Wes Hart is in the midst of his sixth season at Alabama and owns a career record of 51-49-13 entering Saturday's matchup
- The team returned seven starters and 10 letterwinners from last season's roster that finished the 2020 slate with a record of 2-5-2
- Earlier this fall, Alabama made its 13th appearance at the Southeastern Conference Tournament

- The Tigers are currently in the middle of their 2020-21 campaign and hold a record of 7-5-3

- The Crimson Tide held the advantage in shots, firing off 12 compared to South Alabama's 10
- Midfielder Felicia Knox found the back of the net for the fourth time this season
- Forward Sydney Vincens notched her second goal of the 2020-21 campaign
- Midfielder Kat Rogers and defender Tanna Sanchez-Carreto recorded their first goals of the 2020-21 season
- Midfielder Macy Clem earned three assists in the game, while Rogers earned one
- Alabama also maintained the advantage in corner kicks, registering six to South Alabama's five
- Goalkeeper McKinley Crone recorded four saves for the match
Returning Firepower
- Two members of the 2020-21 Crimson Tide roster received postseason honors at the conclusion of the fall
- Forward Riley Mattingly was named to the Second Team All-SEC while midfielder Felicia Knox was selected to the SEC All-Freshman Team
- Mattingly returned for the Tide's opening match of the spring but suffered a lower body injury that will likely keep her out for the remainder of the spring schedule
- Knox, who scored two goals for the Tide back in the fall, returned to the pitch this spring
- Midfielder Reyna Reyes got the call to practice with the Mexican Women's National Team camp earlier this month and earned her first cap with the full team during her most recent call-up
- McKinley Crone, a transfer goalkeeper, leads Alabama in minutes played and has registered 66 saves across the 2020-21 season
- Crone ranks fourth in the SEC with an average of 5.11 saves per game entering Saturday's matchup
