
Alabama Volleyball Falls to Kentucky in Season Finale, 3-0

The Crimson Tide ends the season with a 7-15 record
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Alabama volleyball fell to third-ranked Kentucky, 3-0, in the final match of the season for the Crimson Tide Thursday night on the road.
Alabama (7-15, 7-15 SEC) fell behind to Kentucky (19-1, 19-1 SEC) early in the first set, 7-1, before calling an early timeout. After the break, the Crimson Tide responded with a 7-3 run to trim the deficit to two points before the Wildcats took a timeout at 10-8. Kentucky jumped back ahead to a 19-12 lead at Alabama's second timeout and held on to win the first set, 25-16. A kill from Abby Marjama gave the Tide the first point of the second set before the Wildcats scored three in a row to take the lead, remaining in front for the rest of the 25-9 frame to lead the match, 2-0. Kentucky kept the momentum rolling into the third, winning 25-14 to complete the sweep.
Marjama and Kennedy Muckelroy tied for the team lead with nine kills each. Graduates Riley Fisbeck and Madelyn St. Germain led the team in assists (21) and assists (9), respectively.
