Alabama Softball Evens Weekend Series with 7-1 Win Over Tennessee

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball evened the weekend series against Tennessee with a 7-1 win Saturday afternoon at Rhoads Stadium.
The Alabama (23-2, 4-1 SEC) offense came alive to the tune of seven runs on 10 hits in game two against Tennessee (21-4, 2-3 SEC) with seven different players earning a hit. Bailey Hemphill, Kaylee Tow and Savannah Woodard tallied a pair of hits, going a combined 6-for-10 with four RBIs. Hemphill led the way with three RBIs, coming on a two-run single a solo home run. She now sits at third all-time at UA with 55 career home runs and improves her career RBI total to 205. Hemphill's one walk also pushes her within two of tying Haylie McCleney's school record of 199.
In the circle, Lexi Kilfoyl (10-0) earned the complete-game win to remain undefeated on the year while Callie Turner (5-1) took the loss for the Lady Vols.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Alabama is now 37-26 all-time against Tennessee and 20-8 against the Lady Vols at home
- Seven different Alabama players earned a hit, including multi-hit performances from Bailey Hemphill, Kaylee Tow and Savannah Woodard
- With a walk today, Bailey Hemphill improved her career mark to 197 walks, two shy of Haylie McCleney's school record of 199
