The rookie carded seven birdies in her first time around the course
ATHENS, Ga. – Alabama’s Benedetta Moresco carded a 4-under-par 68 Friday to pace the Crimson Tide women’s golf team in the opening round of the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic.
Alabama is tied for ninth place after posting a team score of 8-over par 296. The Tide is eight strokes off the tournament leader, LSU, who turned in an even par 288. Individually, Moresco sits in a tie for second place, four strokes behind Ingrid Lindblad of LSU
Leading the Lineup
- Benedetta Moresco carded seven birdies to put herself in a tie for second place at the conclusion of the first round.
- The rookie has turned in an under-par score in three of her last four rounds.
- Polly Mack posted a consistent round of 2-over par 74 and is tied for 26th.
- Caroline Curtis and Angelica Moresco both posted a score of 5-over par 77.
- Kenzie Wright is tied for 82nd after shooting an 8-over par 80.
