
Alabama Wraps Up First Round of Gamecock Intercollegiate

Benedetta Moresco led the way for the Crimson Tide in the first round of action on Monday
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Alabama women’s golf team is tied for 12th place at the end of the first round of the Gamecock Intercollegiate at the Columbia Country Club.
Alabama posted a 11-over-par 299 at the conclusion of play in the first round. Duke is atop the team leaderboard after shooting 6-under par 282 and holds a four-stroke lead over LSU (286). Moresco is one-stroke off a group of six individual leaders who notched a 3-under par 69 in the opening round.
A Look at the Alabama Lineup
- Rookie Benedetta Moresco led the way for the Tide posting four birdies to finish 2 under-par 70 and sits tied for seventh.
- Kenzie Wright and Polly Mack turned in a 4-over par 76 and sit tied for 61st.
- Caroline Curtis shot a 5-over par 77 in her first trip around the course.
- Emilie Øverås is in 95th place at a 10-over par 82.

The tournament will continue through Wednesday. Play is set to continue with an 8 a.m. CT start. On Tuesday, Alabama will be paired with Texas A&M and Georgia.
