
Crimson Tide and No. 25 Lady Bulldogs to Meet Thursday in Coleman Coliseum

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's basketball returns home for its lone game of the week, hosting No. 25/25 Georgia on Thursday. The matchup between the Crimson Tide and Lady Bulldogs will tip at 6 p.m. CT in Coleman Coliseum.

Thursday's game will air live on SEC Network with Eric Frede and Tamika Catchings on the call and can also be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network (WTBC-AM 1230 in Tuscaloosa) with Roger Hoover providing the play-by-play.
OPENING TIP
- Alabama enters Thursday's game against Georgia in a tie with the Lady Bulldogs for 6th place in the Southeastern Conference with a 5-4 mark against league opponents and 12-4 record overall.
- The game will feature several elements highlighting National Girls and Women in Sports Day, culminating Alabama's week-long celebration of the event.
- The Tide has won five of its first seven SEC games for the first time since 1997-98 season.
- Alabama currently ranks 30th in the NET with all four of its losses coming to teams ranked 22 or higher in the NET in No. 3 (South Carolina), No. 14 (Tennessee) and No. 22 (Kentucky).
- Alabama's 75.3 point-per-game average is the highest average it has had in nearly two decades.

- Alabama is the only school to boast two of the top seven scorers in SEC play with Lewis at No. 4 (19.6 ppg) and Walker at No. 7 (17.9 ppg).
SERIES NOTES
- The Tide and Lady Bulldogs are meeting for the 55th time in the series that dates back to 1977 with Georgia holding a 42-12 overall lead.
- Four of the last six games between the two have been decided in overtime, all of which have fallen in favor of the Lady Bulldogs.
- The two teams last met in what would be the final game of the 2019-20 season for the Tide in its lone game of the SEC Tournament, which Georgia won 68-61.
- Alabama's last win against the Lady Bulldogs came on Jan. 27, 2019 by a score of 58-53 in Athens, and its last win in the series in Tuscaloosa was on Jan. 17, 2016 (64-50).

ABOUT GEORGIA
- Georgia heads into Tuscaloosa with a 13-4 record overall and matching 5-4 mark in SEC play.
- The Lady Bulldogs have three averaging double figures in Jenna Staiti (14.3 ppg), Gabby Connally (11.2 ppg) and Que Morrison (10.1 ppg).
- Staiti also leads Georgia on the boards with her 7.5 rebounds per game in addition to 2.8 blocks per contest, while Morrison leads the way in assists (3.4 apg) and steals (2.1 spg).
- As a team, the Lady Bulldogs are averaging 63.4 points per game in league play, shooting 41.0 percent from the floor.
- Georgia averages 9.4 steals per game against SEC opponents in addition to 5.2 blocks per contest.

LAST TIME OUT
- Alabama led No. 4/3 South Carolina at the half, but South Carolina would go on to outscore the Crimson Tide in the second half in the 87-63 decision Sunday at Colonial Life Arena.
- Lewis led the way offensively for the Tide, scoring 19 points in her 39 minutes of action.
- She was joined in double figures by Walker (15) and Megan Abrams (10).
- Destiny Rice chipped in nine points, her highest against an SEC team in her career, in 22 minutes off the bench.
- Copeland had a team-high seven rebounds, while she and Walker each recorded two blocks in the game.
- Alabama took a 16-8 lead midway through the first quarter before South Carolina scored the next nine straight.
- A layup from Hannah Barber at the 1:56 mark put the Tide back on top, however the Gamecocks put up the final six points to lead 26-21 at the end of the first.
- South Carolina pulled ahead by seven early in the second, but Alabama would end up outscoring the Gamecocks 20-14 over the 10:00 span to lead 41-40 at halftime.
- South Carolina came out of the gates fast in the third, scoring 15 of the first 20 points and took its first double-digit lead of the game at 4:46 off a three from Zia Cooke.
- A layup by Lewis with 13 seconds to go cut the lead to eight, however Cooke would put one more up for the Gamecocks to give them a 64-54 advantage to close out the third.
- South Carolina continued to outscore Alabama in the final frame, adding the majority of its points from the free throw line.
