
Crimson Tide Heads to Auburn for Sunday Women’s Basketball Matchup

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama and Auburn will face each other for the second time this season in women's basketball action on Sunday. The game will tip at 5 p.m. CT in Auburn Arena.

Sunday's game will air live on the SEC Network with Tyler Denning and Steffi Sorensen on the call and can also be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network (WTBC-AM 1230 in Tuscaloosa) with Roger Hoover providing the play-by-play.
OPENING TIP
- Alabama enters Sunday's game at Auburn with a 12-6 overall record and 5-6 mark in Southeastern Conference play.
- Alabama currently ranks 34th in the NET with five of its six losses coming to teams ranked 22 or higher in the NET in No. 3 (South Carolina, twice), No. 16 (Tennessee), No. 21 (Georgia) and No. 22 (Kentucky).
- The Tide is one of seven SEC teams ranked in the top 35 of the NET.
- Alabama's 74.6 point-per-game average is the highest average it has had in nearly two decades.
- The Tide is No. 2 in the SEC in free throw percentage (75.2) and top three in the league in nearly every three-point shooting category.
- Alabama is led by its big three of Ariyah Copeland, Jordan Lewis and Jasmine Walker. Walker leads the way, averaging just shy of a double-double with 19.7 points and 9.9 rebounds, while Lewis adds 16.6 points, 4.3 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game and Copeland 13.8 points and 8.3 boards per outing.
- Alabama has one of the top three-point shooters in the SEC and in the nation in Walker, who leads the league in three-pointers per game (3.00).
- Walker is also the only player in the SEC to rank in the top five in the conference in both scoring and rebounding.
- Walker was recently named a finalist for the 2021 Katrina McClain Award and to the Naismith Trophy Women's Midseason Team.
- The Tide has the most experienced point guard in the SEC in Lewis, who has started every game she's played in since she arrived on campus in 2016 (121 games).
- Lewis is also the SEC's active leader in assists (473) and is No. 4 in career steals (151), No. 5 in career points (1,421) and No. 13 in career rebounds (504).
- Alabama is the only school to boast two of the top six scorers in SEC play with Lewis at No. 5 (18.5 ppg) and Walker at No. 6 (18.1 ppg).
SERIES NOTES
- Sunday's matchup will be the second this season and 94th overall between the rival Tide and Tigers.
- Alabama won the earlier contest in Tuscaloosa, 67-55, and both of last year's meetings.
- The Tide's senior trio of Ariyah Copeland, Jordan Lewis and Jasmine Walker combined for 55 of the 67 on January 24.
- Lewis was just shy of a triple-double in that contest, finishing with 19 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.

ABOUT AUBURN
- Auburn is 5-14 this season and holds an 0-11 record in SEC play.
- Last time out, the Tigers dropped a 74-54 decision at Georgia.
- Unique Thompson leads the way for Auburn, averaging 17.4 points and 13.4 rebounds per game.
- In conference games, Honesty Scott-Grayson is averaging 16.1 points per game, shooting 41.2 percent from the field and 83.7 percent from the free throw line.

LAST TIME OUT
- Alabama battled back from a 14-point, second-quarter deficit to lead at the end of the third, however Ole Miss outscored the Crimson Tide down the stretch for the 67-62 edge in women's basketball action on Thursday.
- Jordan Lewis recorded her first career double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Jasmine Walker added 14 points and eight boards.
- Megan Abrams also recorded double-digits with 12 points as did Ariyah Copeland, who finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.
- The Tide scored nearly one-third of its points from the free throw line with 20 of the 62 coming from the stripe.
- With her seventh point of game, Lewis entered the top 10 in career points at Alabama. She finished the night with 17, bringing her total to 1,421.
- Lewis drew a season-high 12 fouls, resulting in 14 trips to the free throw line where she made all but one.
- The Tide shot over 40 percent from the floor in the second and third quarters, however combined to shoot 23 percent in the first and fourth.
- Rebounds were close with the Rebels pulling down 45 and Alabama ending with 42.
