
Alabama’s Mohamed Farouk Finals off the Platform to Close FINA World Junior Diving Championships

The Crimson Tide rookie finish ninth off the platform, sixth in the synchro platform event and 15th off the 3-meter springboard at the World Junior Championships
KYIV, UKRAINE – Alabama rookie Mohamed Farouk closed out the 2021 FINA World Junior Diving Championships with a ninth-place finish in the finals of the platform event Thursday Liko Sport Centre in Kyiv, Ukraine.

"We're super proud of the way that Farouk represented his country, his family and Alabama this week. This was a great experience for him and should set him up well as he heads back to Tuscaloosa and into the second half of the season."
Farouk, competing for his native Egypt, totaled 374.10 points in the preliminary round of the platform event, before jumping three places in finals to take ninth with 422.30 points.
Earlier in the week, Farouk combined with Zyad Morsy in the platform synchro event, to take sixth place with 263.31 points. Farouk also tallied 461.25 off the 3-meter springboard to take 15th place.
