Former Alabama players continue to shine in week 14 of the 2021 NFL season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The 14th week of the National Football League season wrapped up Monday. Below is a look at some of the highlights by former Crimson Tide players currently in the NFL.
Running back Najee Harris had an impressive showing for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football. The rookie rushed 20 times for 94 yards and one touchdown while adding three catches for 10 yards and another score through the air.
New York Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley had a standout day against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, recording 17 total tackles – a new career-best total for the veteran. The performance moved Mosley to 118 total stops on the season, good for seventh in the league.
A trio of defenders for the Washington Football Team posted big numbers on Sunday, as well. Landon Collins picked off one pass and added five tackles, including two sacks, to his stat line. Da'Ron Payne and Jonathan Allen combined to contribute 13 tackles and two sacks up front in the trenches. On the offensive side of the ball for Washington, Cam Sims hauled in three catches for a team-high 69 yards, including a 43-yard touchdown grab.
In a divisional matchup with the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens' defensive back Anthony Averett collected five tackles, broke up two passes and intercepted another. Staying in the AFC, linebacker Rashaan Evans helped boost the Titans to a shutout win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Evans posted six tackles, one tackle for loss and added an interception in Tennessee's 20-0 win over their divisional foe.
