Alabama Football’s Bryce Young Named Sporting News’ Player of the Year

The signal-caller continues to draw national attention
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – University of Alabama football quarterback Bryce Young was named Sporting News' Player of the Year, it was announced by the organization Thursday. The signal-caller was also named to the Sporting News All-America First Team earlier this week.

- The Heisman Trophy winner is completing 68.0 percent of his passes (314-462) for 4,322 yards with 43 touchdowns compared to just four interceptions
- Second nationally and first in the conference for passing touchdowns
- Third nationally in points responsible for (284), while ranking fifth in the country in passing efficiency (175.5)
- Guided the Alabama offense to the No. 2 third-down conversion percentage in the nation (53.6 percent), completing 71.7 percent of his third-down pass attempts (81-113) for 1,329 yards and 14 touchdowns
