
Aguiard, Ferreira Lead Alabama Men’s Tennis at UCF

The Crimson Tide concludes play at the UCF Invite tomorrow with matches kicking off at 8 a.m. CT
LAKE NONA, Fla. – Enzo Aguiard and Joao Ferreira led the Alabama men's tennis team at the UCF Invite Saturday at the Collegiate Tennis Center.
The doubles duo of Aguiard and Ferreira opened the day for the Crimson Tide, posting a 6-4 win against South Florida's Alvin Tudorica and Sergio Gomez Montesa.
Both Aguaird and Ferreira followed their doubles victory with a win in singles play. Aguaird battled against Ivan Yatsuk from South Florida in his first singles match of the day. The UA freshman swept the opening set 6-0 but suffered a 6-4 defeat in set two to bring about a third set. The two players fought their way to a 6-6 score as Aguaird rallied in the tiebreak to post a 7-6 (3) third-set decision.
Ferreira won his second singles matchup, downing John Bernard from Florida State in straight sets. Ferreira went 6-2 in set one, before posting a 6-3 decision in set two for the win.

The Crimson Tide returns to action tomorrow for the conclusion of the UCF Invite. The team will compete against members from Central Florida at 8 a.m. CT on Sunday.
