Rudi Christiansen led the Crimson Tide on the final day of competition
LAKE NONA, Fla. – The Alabama men's tennis team closed the fall season Sunday at the UCF Invite at the Collegiate Tennis Center. Rudi Christiansen paced the team on the final day of matches as the Crimson Tide athlete won a doubles and singles match during the day's events.
Christiansen and doubles partner Zach Foster opened the day with a win over Florida State's John Bernard and Alex Bulte. The UA pair dropped just two games in the match to record a 6-2 win.
Christiansen followed with a three-set win in singles play against South Florida's Tom Pisan. Christiansen opened with a 6-3 win in the first set, before falling 6-4 in set two. The sophomore rallied for a dominate third-set performance, taking a 6-0 decision to clinch the match.
In addition to Christiansen, Joao Ferreira recorded a win in singles play, his second singles victory of the weekend. Ferreira battled through a first-set tiebreak, 7-6(1), but fell, 6-2, in the second set to bring about a third set. Ferreira cruised to a 6-2 decision to win the third set and the match.

The Crimson Tide concludes the fall season. The team returns to action January 15 as Alabama hosts Mercer and Samford in dual matches at the Alabama Tennis Stadium.
