ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – The sixth-seeded Alabama soccer team (10-9-1, 5-4-1 SEC) fell, 1-0, in the quarterfinals of the Southeastern Conference Tournament to the third-seeded Ole Miss Rebels (12-4-3, 6-3-1) Tuesday at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Ala.

An early goal gave the Rebels the advantage as Molly Martin redirected a corner kick from Haleigh Stackpole onto frame. The Crimson Tide rallied to create chances near the end of the first, including pair of shots from Riley Tanner, with one hitting the post and another forcing Ashley Orkus to come up with a save.

UA controlled the second half of play, forcing the Ole Miss keeper to register four more saves. The Tide fired off eight shots, four on goal, and was awarded five corner kicks but was unable to convert an opportunity at net. Felicia Knox led the second half charge as she placed two shots on net to challenge Orkus in goal. Despite controlling most of the second half, Ole Miss held its 1-0 lead to take the win.

"Proud of our team today. We started a little slower than we wanted. Not sure if it was nerves or what, but once we settled into the game, I thought we played well. Loved our fight all the way until the final whistle. We nearly had the equalizer in the final seconds.

"I think we put ourselves in a great position to be considered for NCAA Tournament. Our RPI is in the 40s at the moment. We played one of the toughest schedules in the country. We finished tied for fifth in a very good league and had two big wins over LSU and Auburn."
