
Alabama Swimming and Diving Set for Tennessee Invitational

The Crimson Tide has its whole lineup in Knoxville, Tenn., for its annual mid-season invitational
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Alabama swimming and diving men's and women's teams are set to begin competition at the Tennessee Invitational on Thursday. The three-day event emulates postseason competition with prelims and finals each day.
The Crimson Tide men and women are both 3-0-0 overall, and 1-0-0 in Southeastern Conference competition coming into the weekend.

"We're excited to be in Knoxville and for the competition to get underway. We've been working hard all fall and this will be a great meet for us to see where we stand collectively as a team up to this point in the season. We are battling against some of the top teams in the country and we welcome the challenge this presents. We're excited to compete the next three days and confident this will help prepare us for the next phase of our season."
Tennessee Invitational Schedule (All Times Central)
- Thursday's and Friday's prelims start at 9 a.m. for swimming and 12 p.m. for diving
- Thursday's and Friday's finals start at 4 p.m. for diving and 5 p.m. for swimming
- Saturday's prelims start at 9 a.m. with the timed finals of the 1,650 freestyle starting at 11 a.m. and diving prelims starting at 12:30 p.m.
- Saturday's finals start at 3:30 p.m.
- Thursday's events include the 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle, women's 1-meter diving, men's 3-meter diving, 200 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay
Alabama in the Top-25 Nationally
- Alabama has 12 swims ranked in the top-25 nationally following early season meets
- Rhyan White is 10th in the 200 backstroke (1:55.68), 16th in the 50 backstroke (24.88) and 17th in the 100 backstroke (53.27), with all three swims coming against LSU
- Kensey McMahon is 12th in the 1,000 freestyle after posting a 9:53.48 against LSU
- Avery Wiseman is 12th in the 200 breaststroke (2:11.44) and 19th in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.18) with both swims coming against LSU
- Matt Menke is 16th in the men's 50 backstroke after going 21.91 against Birmingham Southern
- Menke's 47.68 against LSU in the men's 100 backstroke ranks 22nd nationally
- Derek Maas is also ranked in the men's 100 backstroke, going 47.83 against Delta State to stand 25th nationally
- Maas is also 14th in the 100 breaststroke with a 53.51 against LSU
- Kalia Antoniou is 23rd in the women's 50 freestyle with a 22.70 against LSU
- Morgan Scott is 25th in the women's 50 backstroke, with a 25.15 from the Tide's September meet against Delta State
Last Time Out
- Alabama picked up decisive wins over the LSU Tigers on Nov. 5 at the Alabama Aquatic Center in the Crimson Tide's Southeastern Conference opener
- The UA women downed the Tigers 194.5-105.5, while the men came out on top 170-130
- The Alabama women won 11 individual races and both relays against LSU, while the Tide men won seven individual races and both relays
SEC Honors
- Alabama has picked up conference "of the Week" honors following its last two dual meets
- Avery Wiseman, who has won six races across her first three dual meets, was named SEC Freshman of the Week following the Crimson Tide's win over LSU
- Kaique Alves was named the SEC Freshman of the Week after the Tide's win at Birmingham Southern
