
Alabama Coaching Staff Names Nine Players of the Week after Win over Tennessee

Four apiece on offense and defense along with one on special teams were selected
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama coaching staff named nine players of the week following the Crimson Tide's 15th straight win over Tennessee, a 52-24 victory last Saturday in Tuscaloosa. John Metchie III, Evan Neal, Brian Robinson Jr. and Bryce Young on offense; Will Anderson Jr., Jalyn Armour-Davis, DeMarcco Hellams and Henry To'oTo'o on defense; and Demouy Kennedy on special teams all earned the recognition for their play in the rivalry game.
OFFENSE
- Recorded a career-high and team-high 11 receptions for 121 total yards and two touchdowns
- Found the end zone from six and 19 yards away
- Racked up 81 yards after the catch and converted six first downs to go with his two scores
- Did not allow a sack, hurry or pressure on 43 pass attempts while adding one knockdown block
- Cleared a path for 203 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground
- Also blocked for 371 passing yards and two more scores
- Eclipsed the 100-yard marker for the third time this season with 107 rushing yards on 26 carries
- Found the end zone three times on the ground to push his season total to 11, which leads the SEC
- Added four receptions for 16 yards
- Threw for a career-high 371 yards with two touchdowns on 31-of-43 passing
- Gained another 56 yards and scored twice with his legs across his eight rushing attempts
- Converted 12 first downs for the game with eight through the air and four on the ground
DEFENSE
- Led the Crimson Tide defense in tackles with eight, including two sacks (-3 yards)
- The two sacks moved his tackles for loss total to 17 on the season, tops in Division I
- Helped UA limit Tennessee to just 64 rushing yards, more than 180 yards below their season average
- Picked off his second pass of the season, returning the interception 47 yards
- His interception led to an eventual Tide touchdown to mke it a three-score game late
- Also contributed two tackles by night's end
- Tied for second on the Alabama defense with six tackles
- Made four solo stops from his safety spot
- Played a key role in the Tide secondary that held UT to 282 passing yards
- Finished with five tackles against his former team
- Directed a Tide defensive unit that allowed 24 points, 15 below UT's season average entering the game
- Also fell on a blocked punt to keep Tennessee from recovering the loose ball for a touchdown
SPECIAL TEAMS
- Made one tackle on punt coverage to limit the UT returner to a six-yard gain
- Helped the Tide coverage units keep the Vols to only 18 yards in punt returns and zero yards on kick returns
