
Crimson Tide in the NFL Spotlight: Week 5

Former Alabama players continue to produce in week five of the 2021 NFL season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The fifth week of the National Football League season wrapped up Monday. Below is a look at some of the highlights from week five by former Crimson Tide players currently in the NFL.
Derrick Henry continued his strong start to the season. The Titans' running back carried the ball 29 times for 130 yards and three touchdowns on Sunday to add to his league-leading rushing yards total (640 yards). Also providing support from the backfield was Pittsburgh Steelers' running back Najee Harris. The rookie had his best performance on the ground this season, totaling 122 yards and one touchdown on 23 carries. Harris also added two catches for 20 yards. Both tailbacks helped lead their respective teams to victories on Sunday.
Also posting a big week on the ground was New England Patriots' running back Damien Harris. In a comeback win over the Houston Texans, Harris ran for 58 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries. Dallas wideout Amari Cooper rounded out the offensive group in week five. Cooper hauled in three receptions for 60 yards and one touchdown in the Cowboys' win over the New York Giants.
Trevon Diggs continued his hot start on the other side of the ball for Dallas. Diggs recorded five tackles, two pass breakups and one interception Sunday afternoon. The pick marked Diggs' fifth straight game with an interception and his sixth on the season to lead the NFL through five weeks.
Playing opposite of Cooper and Diggs was Giants' linebacker Reggie Ragland. The veteran defender recorded seven tackles, including one for loss, to go with a pass breakup and a fumble recovery. Staying in the NFC East, Da'Ron Payne tallied three total tackles, including one tackle for loss, to with a sack, one quarterback hurry and one fumble recovery for the Washington Football Team.
Terrell Lewis began the week with a solid performance for the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football. Lewis recorded a sack as part of his three tackles while adding a quarterback hurry in the Rams' win over the Seattle Seahawks.
