Crimson Tide will be Commodores’ first SEC opponent this season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Crimson Tide women's basketball (9-1, 2-1 SEC) continues its Southeastern Conference slate on Sunday when it takes on the Vanderbilt Commodores (4-1) in Memorial Gym. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. CT start in Nashville.

Sunday's game will air live on the SEC Network with Sam Gore and Tamika Catchings and can also be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network (WTBC-AM 1230 in Tuscaloosa) with Roger Hoover the call.
OPENING TIP
- Alabama picked up its ninth overall win and second in Southeastern Conference play on Thursday against LSU.
- The victory for the Crimson Tide ended a three-game losing skid to the Lady Tigers.
- Alabama has now won two of its first three games in league play for the first time since 2017.
- As a team, the Tide is ranked in the top 50 nationally in assist/turnover ratio (33rd), assists (18th), free throw attempts (seventh), free throws made (sixth), free throw percentage (14th), rebounds (29th), scoring margin (45th), scoring offense (40th), three-point field goals attempted (24th), three-point field goals made (17th), three-point field goals per game (42nd) and turnovers per game (39th).
- Individually, Hannah Barber, Ariyah Copeland, Jordan Lewis and Jasmine Walker are ranked nationally in the top 50 in several categories as well.
- Sunday's game will be the 52nd between the two programs with the Commodores leading the series 34-17, however the Tide has won the last five matchups between the two.
- Prior to Kristy Curry's arrival, Alabama had never won at Vanderbilt in Memorial Gym, but that streak was snapped on Feb. 23, 2014, Curry's first season, with the Tide winning 66-62.
- Alabama's last win in Nashville came two seasons ago in an 84-65 decision on Feb. 21, 2019.

ABOUT VANDERBILT
- Alabama will be Vanderbilt's first SEC opponent of the season as the Commodores have not played a game since Dec. 20.
- VU had their final nonconference game, which was slated for Dec. 28 against Samford, canceled and their first three league contests postponed.
- The Commodores have won their last four games after dropping the season opener, 82-74, at Little Rock.
- Vanderbilt has won all three of its home games with victories coming against ETSU (81-61), VCU (90-81) and Gardner-Webb (97-58).
- The Commodores are averaging 84.4 points per game, outscoring opponents by 12.4 per contest, while shooting 45.2 percent from the floor.
- Vanderbilt is led in nearly every category by 2020 SEC All-Freshman Team member Koi Love, who averages 22.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 1.6 blocks per game.
- The Commodores are under the direction of Stephanie White, who is in her fifth season at Vanderbilt. She took over in Nashville after having spent two seasons as the head coach of the WNBA's Indiana Fever.
LAST TIME OUT
- Alabama had four players finish in double figures, including Ariyah Copeland and Jasmine Walker, who each recorded double-doubles, in the 67-59 victory over LSU.
- For Copeland, it was her third of the season, collecting 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Walker tallied her fifth of the year with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
- Megan Abrams and Jordan Lewis chipped in 12 points apiece, and Lewis also dished out a game-best five assists.
- Alabama got off to a hot start with Walker knocking down a three-pointer 10 seconds into the game.
- Aside from a pair of ties, the Tide led for the entire game and by as many as 12.
- LSU rallied for the second tie of the ballgame midway through the fourth, however Alabama responded by scoring eight unanswered to help seal the victory.
- Hannah Barber also positioned herself perfectly to draw two huge fouls on the defensive end late in the contest.
- Alabama dominated the glass, outrebounding LSU, 44-27.
- The Tide had four players in double figures for the second time this season.
- Alabama had one of its most efficient shooting quarters of the season, hitting 70 percent (7-10) in the second.
- The Tide scored nearly half of its points in the paint with 32 coming from inside.
- Copeland has scored 20 or more points in four games this season and five times for her career, while Walker has done so seven times this year and 13 times for her career.
- Lewis continued her dominance in the fouls drawn category, racking up six on the night, which resulted in six points from the line.
