The Crimson Tide is three weeks away from hosting McNeese State for opening week from Feb. 19-21
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama baseball moved one step closer to the 2021 season opener as the Crimson Tide took part in its first full-team practice of the spring on Friday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
The team began the day with a workout before taking part in an intrasquad scrimmage. Alabama will return to the diamond again on Saturday and Sunday with just under three weeks until the team's season opener with McNeese State on Friday, Feb. 19.
"It was great to be out here today," Alabama head coach Brad Bohannon said. "We scrimmaged, and we'll get out there again tomorrow and Sunday. (It was) probably what you would think, pitching a little ahead of the hitting, but the energy was good. This is an awesome group of kids."
In compliance with guidelines due to COVID-19, admission to Alabama baseball's on-field activity is closed to the public. Gates to Sewell-Thomas Stadium will not be open and fans are strictly prohibited from entering the facility.
