The defender will participate in a four-day camp in Mexico City
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama soccer defender Reyna Reyes was called up to Mexico’s Senior Women’s National Team Camp held at the Centro de Alto Rendimiento (CAR) in México City, starting January 28. The camp helps determine the makeup of the next camp before CONCACAF Qualifying for the next World Cup.
When I first got the invite to this camp I actually double checked to see if I read that correctly and immediately, I was overwhelmed with happy emotions. I am just so grateful for the opportunity to give it all I have, because I will not take this opportunity for granted.Reyna Reyes

Reyes has attended several camps along with competing in multiple international tournaments for Mexico’s National Team. She has been a member of the Mexican team that finished runner-up at the 2019 Concacaf Women's U20 and the 2018 U17 Women's World Cup squad that finished second.
A starting defender for the Crimson Tide for all but two games through her first two years, Reyes made quite an instant impact on the back line. During her rookie campaign on the Capstone, she scored three goals earning SEC All-Conference First Team and All-Freshman Team honors while being named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Third Team in 2019. Through the first eight games of the 2020 fall season, the Garland, Texas, native notched an assist.
I was very excited to hear that Reyna got the call up. I know she was incredibly disappointed when the U20 World Cup was postponed and then ultimately cancelled. She’s worked incredibly hard to get here and I’m confident she’ll make the most of her opportunity.UA Head Coach Wes Hart
