
Alabama Men’s Basketball Vaults into National Rankings

Crimson Tide Ranked No. 18 in AP Poll, No. 16 in USA Today Coaches Poll
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's basketball team cracked the top-25 rankings this week, checking in at No. 18 in the Associated Press Poll and No. 16 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, which were both released Monday.
Alabama is riding a seven-game winning streak coming into Tuesday night's contest at LSU and owns an overall record of 11-3 this season. The Tide is in first place in the league standings with a perfect 6-0 record in SEC play, including three road conference wins (at Tennessee, at Auburn and at Kentucky).
AP Top-25 Ranking
- It is the first time since December of 2017 that Alabama has been ranked in the AP Poll, spending two weeks and reaching No. 24 nationally
- It is the first time that the Crimson Tide has been ranked in the AP Top 25 in the month of January since 2007
- The last time an Alabama team was ranked as high as No. 18 came in 2011 (No. 16)
- Alabama is one of three SEC teams to be ranked in this week's AP Poll, joining No. 6 Tennessee and No. 19 Missouri. LSU is also receiving votes to be ranked (No. 33).
Alabama will return to action on Tuesday night when it travels to face LSU (10-2, 5-1 SEC) in Baton Rouge, La. That contest is slated to tipoff on ESPN2 at 8 p.m. CT.
