
Alabama Women’s Tennis Alum Alexa Guarachi Seeded 14th in the French Open Main Doubles Draw

The former Crimson Tide standout will team with Desirae Krawczyk at the famed Roland-Garros Stadium
PARIS – Former Alabama women's tennis standout Alexa Guarachi is seeded 14th in the main doubles draw of the French Open, partnered with Desirae Krawczyk at Roland-Garros Stadium in Paris. It will be the tandem's third Grand Slam appearance of the year after playing in both the US Open and Australian Open.
Guarachi and Krawczyk will open play on Wednesday against Storm Sanders and Ellen Perez. The two squads last met in the championship final of the Istanbul Open, where Guarachi and Krawczyk won 6-1, 6-3.
After being ranked as high as 38th in the world in February of this year, which is also a career high, Guarachi is currently ranked 45th heading into the week. In addition to winning the Istanbul Open earlier this month, Guarachi and Krawczyk also reached the championship final of the Internationaux de Strasbourg in September.
