
Alabama Women’s Tennis Inks Anna Parkhomenko to 2020 Signing Class

Parkhomenko is an incoming freshman from Sumy, Ukraine
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama added incoming freshman Anna Parkhomenko to the 2020 Signing Class, head coach Jenny Mainz and assistant coach Jonatan Berhane announced on Wednesday.

"We're very excited to welcome Anna to our Alabama Women's Tennis Family," Berhane said. "Anna is only 17 years old with impressive results and wins against high level tennis players at the ITF Women Circuit. She is a fierce competitor and embraces competition. Her athleticism and work ethic stands out and are qualities that will definitely help her be successful at Alabama."
Parkhomenko hails from Sumy, Ukraine, and was the Ukrainian National Champion in U-18 in singles and doubles in 2018, along with winning her second consecutive Ukrainian National Championship in singles in 2019. Her impressive results led her to being tabbed as the No. 3 ranked player in her home country. In addition, Parkhomenko's highest UTR is 10.55, while climbing to No. 540 in the ITF Women Rankings.
Additional results for Parkhomenko include making it to semifinals at the ITF $15k Bucha, along with strong singles wins over Margarita Ignatjeva (WTA Ranking: 960), Anastasia Vdovenco (WTA Ranking: 984), Hanna Sokal (WTA Ranking: 1047) and Patricija Spaka (ITF Ranking: 147).
