Riley transferred to the Crimson Tide after spending four years at Clemson
"We're eager to welcome Sydney to our Alabama Tennis Family," stated Mainz. "Sydney brings experience, maturity and confidence to our team. She's battle-tested and understands the toughness that's required to compete at the highest level. She was an integral part of Clemson's success in her standout career as a Tiger. She's going to make a decisive impact in our Bama Program."
Riley had her best season as a Tiger in 2020, while compiling an 11-1 dual match record, including a 4-1 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference play, while primarily playing at the No. 6 spot. From Oct. 2019 to March 2020, she held a 13-match win streak in singles.
In doubles, she had a 10-9 overall record in 2019-20, as she played at the No. 1 position in the dual match season. Additionally she was ranked as high as No. 56 in doubles (Nov. 13) with partner Eleni Louka.
