
Kenzie Wright Paces Alabama Women's Golf in Round Two of Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

The senior leads the competitive field with nine birdies after 36 holes of play
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Senior Kenzie Wright of the Alabama women's golf team carded a 4-under par 67 on Saturday to pace the Crimson Tide in round two of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, which is being played at the 6,266 yard, par-71 Pete Dye Course at Long Cove Club.
In the team standings, Alabama jumped up three spots and will enter Sunday's final round in 12th overall with a team total of 610 (311-299). Wake Forest (287-288/575) leads the team standings and holds a five-stroke lead over UCLA (292-288/580).
Alabama will tee off beginning at 8:40 a.m. CT Sunday, in the final 18-holes along with Arkansas and tournament host South Carolina.
A Look at the Alabama Lineup
- Wright, who hails from Frisco, Texas, turned in a team-leading seven birdies on her way to finishing 4-under par 67 for the day and will enter the third round in a tie for 10th place overall at 3-over par 145.
- She opened the tournament with a 78 on Friday, before responding with her 12th round of par or better in the second round. Wright has notched the most birdies in the field, with nine.
- Freshman Caroline Curtis carded six-consecutive pars on her way to signing for 7-over par 78 and is tied for 56th overall (76-78/154).
- After a bumpy start, junior Polly Mac sunk 11-stright pars and finished the day with a birdie to stand tied for 58th (79-76/155).
- Rounding out the Alabama golfers are freshman Emilie Øverås (78-78/156), who sits tied for 62nd and junior Angelica Moresco (79-79/158) who is tied for 70th.
