ATHENS, Ga. – Alabama's Kevin Li took fourth place off the 1-meter springboard at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships being held at the Ramsey Center in Athens, Ga., this week, to earn a berth at the upcoming Men's NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
In fourth place after prelims, the sophomore maintained that spot to earn one of the 10 NCAA Championship berths available from Zone B off the 1-meter. Li scored 327.30 points in prelims and 323.40 in finals.
Qualifying off the 1-meter board and finishing in the top-12 off the 3-meter on day one of the Zone B Championships, means that Li will be able to compete off both boards at the NCAA Championships. With his berth, he becomes the first UA diver to advance to the men's NCAAs since 2016.
Li finished eighth off the 1-meter at the 2019 Zone B meet, when only six divers advance to NCAAs from that Zone.

- In addition to Li, sophomore Hunter Jaynes finished 28th off the 1-meter springboard with 261.25 points in prelims.

- Sophomores Halia Bower (247.85) and Natalie Donkle (238.50), took 30th and 35th, respectively, off the 3-meter board.
