Alabama Swimmers and Divers Earn 11 Wins at Bulldog Invitational

The Crimson Tide also added seven second-place finishes to its weekend total
ATHENS, Ga. – Alabama swimmers and divers totaled 11 wins over the weekend at the Bulldog Invitational in Athens, Ga., including sweeping the top spots in the men's and women's 50 and 100 freestyles.
Sophomore Kalia Antoniou (22.11) and senior Allie Surrency (22.36) took first and second, respectively, in the women's 50 freestyle. It was a career-best time for Antoniou and ranks her third all-time at UA. Antoniou went on to post a 48.65 to win the women's 100 freestyle, while Surrency was second at 49.01.
Sophomore Colton Stogner (19.57) and junior Sam DiSette (19.68), went one-two in the men's 50 freestyle. It was a career-best time for Stogner, who also won the men's 100 freestyle with a 42.93.
Other Top Finishes
- Sophomore Nico Hernandez-Tome won the men's 1,650 freestyle after stopping the clock with a 14:57.81.
- Senior Kyle Maas won the men's 400 individual medley with a season-best time of 3:46.05.
- Sophomores Natalie Donkle (296.93 points) and Halia Bower (292.35 points) took first and second off the women's 3-meter springboard
- Donkle (300.75 points) and Bower (265.58 points) finished first and third off the 1-meter board.
- Sophomore Hunter Jaynes was first off both the men's 1-meter (331.58 points) and 3-meter (347.70 points).
- Sophomore Shumpei Komatsu tallied 321.00 points to take first off the men's platform.
- Junior Kaila Wong was second in the women's 100 breaststroke with a career-best 1:00.09, before going a career-best 59.65 in a time trial.
- Sophomore Morgan Liberto was second in the women's 200 backstroke (1:54.41) and then turned in a career-best 1:53.48 in a time trial.
- Freshman Matt Menke took second in the men's 100 backstroke (47.00) and was seventh in the 200 backstroke (1:43.86).
- Freshman Cam Auerbach posted a career-best 1:34.32 to take second in the men's 200 freestyle.
