Former Alabama players shine in the 13th week of the 2020 NFL season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The 13th week of the 2020-21 season in the National Football League wrapped up on Monday. Below is a look at some of the highlights from week 13 by former Crimson Tide players currently in the NFL.
Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa continued his successful rookie campaign on Sunday. In his return from injury, Tagovailoa completed 26 passes on 39 attempts for 296 yards and one touchdown to help Miami take down the Cincinnati Bengals. The win boosted Tagovailoa's record to 4-1 on the year as a starter.
Former Alabama wide receivers showed out in the League this past week. Calvin Ridley hauled in five receptions for 108 yards for the Falcons. His teammate Julio Jones also had a big day through the air, bringing in six catches for 94 yards in Atlanta's divisional matchup with the New Orleans Saints. On Monday afternoon, Cam Sims totaled 92 yards on five catches to help the Washington Football Team to a victory over the previously undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers. Henry Ruggs III caught three passes for 84 yards and one touchdown in the Raiders win. His biggest catch of the day came on a 46-yard touchdown to put Las Vegas in front for good with less than five seconds remaining in the game.
On the defensive side of the ball, Quinnen Williams made his presence known along the line. The second-year defensive end recorded four tackles, including one sack and one tackle for loss, while adding three quarterback hurries on Sunday. Williams' big day added to his team-leading total for sacks with six on the year.
Two former Tide defensive backs provided strong performances for their respective teams. Kareem Jackson led the Denver Broncos in tackles on Sunday night. Jackson totaled 10 tackles and broke up one pass. A day later on Monday Night Football, Levi Wallace racked up 10 tackles and one quarterback hurry for the Buffalo Bills.
Rounding out the defensive group was Rashaan Evans. The Tennessee Titans linebacker recorded six tackles, including one for loss, and added a quarterback hurry.
