This season marks the 29th-consecutive year that the Crimson Tide has taken part in Project Angel Tree
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Members of Alabama Athletics' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee continued the Crimson Tide's longstanding commitment to Project Angel Tree recently, hosting a virtual holiday celebration on Zoom.
"Project Angel Tree is one of the best events that we get to do through SAAC," SAAC Outreach Committee Chair and soccer player Kat Rogers said. "While it was different this year, we loved getting to connect with the kids and be a part of their Christmas! Our community is amazing and supports us so well, and Project Angel Tree is just a small way for us to show them how much they mean to us."
The Crimson Tide donated money and athletics department staffers shopped for and wrapped Christmas gifts for more than 30 children from the West Alabama community. This year, the Tide also hosted a Zoom (virtual) gathering where student-athletes read holiday classics and Santa made an appearance.
This season marked the 29th-consecutive year that Alabama Athletics has participated in Project Angel Tree, making it one of the longest tenured groups in the state of Alabama to take part in the project.
The Crimson Tide's involvement in Project Angel Tree is part of a year-long slate of programming designed to fulfill Alabama Life Skill's mission to provide opportunities for growth through personal development and service initiatives, empowering Crimson Tide student-athletes to be difference makers and people of positive influence as they pursue success at Alabama and beyond.
