Former Alabama players shine in the 14th week of the 2020 NFL season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The 14th week of the 2020-21 season in the National Football League wrapped up on Monday. Below is a look at some of the highlights from Week 14 by former Crimson Tide players currently in the NFL.
Heisman trophy winner Derrick Henry continued his impressive season for the Tennessee Titans, carrying the ball 26 times for 215 yards and two touchdowns. Henry became the only back in NFL history to rush for 200-plus yards in four career games, breaking a tie with Hall of Famers Jim Brown and Barry Sanders, along with LaDanian Tomlinson for the previous league-best total of three. The impressive performance also helped Henry maintain his lead in rushing touchdowns and yardage among all NFL rushers. Another former Tide running back played well on Sunday as Kenyan Drake rushed 23 times for 80 yards and one touchdown for the Arizona Cardinals. Both players helped lead their respective teams to victory.
Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had a big day through the air against the Kansas City Chiefs. Tagovailoa completed 28-of-48 passes for 316 yards and two touchdowns. Calvin Ridley put on another impressive performance for the Atlanta Falcons. Ridley hauled in eight passes for 124 yards and one touchdown.
On the defensive side of the ball, Da'Ron made his presence known for the Washington Football Team. The defensive tackle recorded five tackles, including one sack, while adding one quarterback hurry and breaking up a pass. His day was highlighted by a forced fumble and fumble recovery. Also performing well along the defensive line was Dalvin Tomlinson and Jarran Reed. Tomlinson tallied one quarterback hurry and three tackles, including two tackles for loss and one sack, for the New York Giants while Reed posted two tackles, including a sack, and two quarterback hurries for the Seattle Seahawks
Rounding out the defensive group was Levi Wallace. The Buffalo corner picked off a pass while adding one tackle and three pass breakups in the Bills' win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
