
Crimson Tide and Colonels to Meet Wednesday in Coleman Coliseum

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's basketball returns home after back-to-back road games for Wednesday's matchup with Nicholls State. The game is set for a 6 p.m. CT start in Coleman Coliseum. Tickets are available through the Alabama Ticket Office and online at RollTide.com.

The game will be streamed live via SEC Network+ and can also be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network (WTBC-AM 1230 in Tuscaloosa) with Roger Hoover on the call.
OPENING TIP
- The Crimson Tide is 5-0 on the season after wins over Samford (83-68), Houston (88-66), USC Upstate (98-59), at Oklahoma State (76-72) and at Mercer (78-61).
- Alabama is looking for its first 6-0 start since 2016 when it won seven consecutive games to begin the season.
- Wednesday's meeting between the Crimson Tide and Colonels will be the second in the series that first began in 2011.
- Alabama welcomed Nicholls State to Tuscaloosa for the season opener that year, which resulted in a 72-51 victory for the Tide.
- The game was played in Foster Auditorium, so this will be the Colonels first contest in Coleman Coliseum.
LAST TIME OUT
- Ariyah Copeland tied her career high in points with 26 to lead Alabama offensively in its 78-61 victory over Mercer at Hawkins Arena.
- Alabama had a huge first quarter, scoring 23 points on 70 percent shooting, while limiting Mercer to only seven points.
- The Tide never trailed in the game and led by as many as 25 points late in the contest.
- Joining Copeland in double figures was Jasmine Walker with 15, Jordan Lewis with 13 and Destiny Rice with 11, which was a career high for her.
- Walker added a game-high 12 rebounds to record her second double-double of the season and 12th of her career, while Lewis and Hannah Barber dished out five assists each.
- As a team, the Tide outrebounded the Bears, 44-32, and scored 40 points in the paint compared to Mercer's 12. Alabama also had 17 points off turnovers compared to the Bears' zero.
- Alabama had four score in double figures for the second time this season. The first occurrence came in the win over USC Upstate.
- While it may not have been the Tide's most productive outing at the line, Alabama still managed to get there 32 times. This season, Alabama has made 122 trips to the charity stripe, while its opponents have gone only 56 times.
ABOUT NICHOLLS STATE
- Nicholls State enters its game with Alabama at 1-3 on the season. The Colonels lone win of 2020 came in an 81-53 decision at home against Mobile.
- Nicholls State is 0-2 in road games with losses at Tulane (43-88) and South Alabama (66-74).
- The Colonels are averaging 62.5 points and 29.0 rebounds per contest.
- Nicholls State is led offensively by Chyna Allen, who averages a team-best 12.5 points per game. Chelsea Cain and Adrian Mann are tied for 4.3 rebounds per game to pace the Colonels on the boards.
- Nicholls State is under the direction of DoBee Plaisance, who is in her 13th season as head coach. Last season, she collected career win No. 300 and helped the Colonels to their first Southland Conference Tournament title in 2018, which resulted in the program's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
