About Alabama
- The Crimson Tide finished their second tournament of the season in eighth place at The Ally, in a 15-team field hosted at the Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.
- UA returns the bulk of the 2019-20 team that finished runner-up in three consecutive tournaments last fall.
Conquering the Course
- The field features 11 Southeastern Conference teams, all ranked in the top-40 by Golfweek, including eight squads in the top-15.
- The three-day, 54-hole event will take place at UGA Golf Course, which will be playing 6,302 and par 72.
- The Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic is one of the oldest sporting events in all of women's intercollegiate athletics, marking the Tide's 39th year competing at the event.
- Alabama has won the Liz Murphey title in four of the last nine years, including when UA broke the tournament record with a 15-under par 849 in 2018.
- LPGA Hall of Famers Beth Daniel, Betsy King and Julie Inkster have competed in the tournament.
- The fall finale carries the same namesake as Georgia's annual spring tournament with the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic still set to be played in the spring.
- UA was scheduled to play in the spring version of the tournament last season, before the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the rest of the season.
Leading the Lineup
- The lineup this week will feature Polly Mack, Angelica Moresco, Emilie Øverås, Kenzie Wright and Michaela Morard.
- Mack will tee off first for the Tide after earning consecutive top-20 finishes between the first two tournaments of the season. Mack has also recorded three out of six rounds at par or lower.
- Wright ranks second in rounds played for the Crimson Tide at 53.
- Øverås will return after leading the team with tied for 12th place finish at The Ally two weeks ago.
- Moresco holds lowest round of 18 holes recorded amongst her teammates, with a score of 64 in the final round of the 2017 Mason Rudolph Championship.
- The four returners from Alabama will be joined by Morard, who will be teeing off in her second collegiate event for the Crimson Tide.
