TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The 10th week of the 2020-21 season in the National Football League wrapped up on Monday. Below is a look at some of the highlights from week 10 by former Crimson Tide players currently in the NFL.
Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has shined in his first three NFL starts including this past weekend. In a win over the Los Angeles Chargers, Tagovailoa completed 15-of-25 passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns. Since being named the starter, Tagovailoa has led Miami on a three-game winning streak and has thrown five touchdowns during that stretch.
The Tide running backs excelled this past weekend in the NFL highlighted by the trio of Damien Harris, Derrick Henry and Josh Jacobs. Harris carried the load for the Patriots on Sunday Night Football, rushing 22 times for 121 yards as New England defeated the Baltimore Ravens. Also excelling out of the backfield was Henry, as the Tennessee Titans' running back racked up 103 yards on 19 total carries. Leading the way for the Las Vegas Raiders was Jacobs. The second-year starter rushed 21 times for 112 yards and found the end zone twice. He also hauled in four passes for 24 yards in a Raiders win. Henry and Jacobs each rank near the top of the league for rushing yards with Henry coming in second and Jacobs close behind at fourth.
On the defensive side of the ball, two former Tide defenders led their respective teams in tackles on Sunday. Cincinnati defensive back Tony Brown recorded nine tackles, including two for loss, while adding one pass breakup. Along the defensive front, Raekwon Davis tallied seven total tackles for the Miami Dolphins. According to Power Football Focus, Davis' Week 10 grade was first among rookies and all NFL defensive tackles.
Los Angeles Rams linebacker Terrell Lewis made his presence known against the Seattle Seahawks. The rookie recorded the first two sacks of his NFL career while also adding one tackle for loss and two quarterback hurries to his stat sheet. Lewis' efforts helped the Rams to a 23-16 win.
Rounding out the defensive group was Dre Kirkpatrick. The Arizona defensive back recorded three tackles and a pass breakup. Kirkpatrick's highlight of the day came when he intercepted Buffalo Bills' quarterback Josh Allen late in the fourth quarter, allowing for the Cardinals to eventually come back and defeat the Buffalo Bills, 32-30.
