
Alabama Volleyball Drops Fall Finale to LSU Monday

The Crimson Tide resumes play in the spring with details to be determined
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama volleyball fell in its fall season finale Monday afternoon at Foster Auditorium, as LSU took the 3-0 decision by set scores of 25-21, 25-18 and 25-21.
After posting a season-high hitting percentage yesterday, Alabama (2-6) struggled offensively on Monday with a .133 team hitting percentage opposed to .269 from LSU (3-3). Both teams committed 11 service errors, but the Tigers countered that with 13 aces while the Crimson Tide only notched three. The first set was the most closely contested, with seven tie scores and three lead changes but a 7-0 run by LSU in the middle of the set ultimately pushed them towards the 25-20 victory. The Tigers led for the entire second set, winning 25-16, and the Tide knotted up the score six times in the third but could not take the lead, ultimately falling 25-18.
Doris Carter led the Alabama offense with seven kills and had no hitting errors on 12 swings, good for a .583 hitting percentage. Madelyn St. Germain was the team's back-row leader with 12 digs while Riley Fisbeck accounted for 20 of the team's 25 assists.
