Corinne Bunagan Signs with Alabama Gymnastics

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – World Championships competitor Corinne Bunagan has signed her National Letter of Intent to compete for The University of Alabama gymnastics team, head coach Dana Duckworth announced Wednesday. Hailing from Ramsey, N.J., she has dual United States and Philippines citizenship and competes internationally as part of the Filipino National Team.

CORINNE BUNAGAN SAID

"I chose Alabama because of what they represent and how they approach gymnastics, school and life. From the moment I met the coaches and team, I felt welcomed and at home. The team places a big emphasis on respect and kindness, values that really inspired me to be a better version of myself. Not only does Alabama have amazing people but it will academically prepare me for my future. The student-athlete support is incredible and I know that after graduating, I will be prepared for whatever comes my way."

HEAD COACH DANA DUCKWORTH SAID

"As a gymnast she has always had a unique style that is not only dynamic but captivating and elegant. She is an all-around, four-event gymnast with beam and bars leading the way. Her personal story includes International Elite experience, being the oldest of four siblings and a love for reading, writing, art and engineering. Our conversations are always intriguing, leaving me excited to learn more. Wise beyond her years, we celebrate her philosophy that college is a growing experience and that as a person, gymnast and team, we need a family of people who support one another through the ups and downs and help each other grow to reach our full potential. We are excited to bring her passion for academics, excellence on the competition floor and life-long learning to the Capstone."

Bungan joins a signing class that also includes Jordyn Paradise and Lilly Hudson.
