
Women’s Golf Concludes Play at Blessing Collegiate

Senior Polly Mack finishes tied for sixth in the opening tournament of 2020-21
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – In the season opener against a Southeastern Conference-focused tournament, Alabama senior Polly Mack finished 3-over par 219 on her way to placing tied for sixth at the Blessing Collegiate Invitational, which was played at the at Blessings Golf Club.
As a team, the Crimson Tide posted rounds of 307, 309 and 302 to finish tenth with a 54-hole ledger of 918. Tournament host Arkansas went wire-to-wire winning with even-par 864 (289-287-288).
The Blessings Golf Club, which hosted the latest NCAA Championships in 2019, only saw two golfers on the women's side finish the three-day tournament under par. For the sixth straight tournament dating back to last season, the Crimson Tide had at least one player place in the top-10 individually.

A Look at the Alabama Lineup
- Entering the day in third, Mack was consistent for much of the round but couldn't make enough birdies to mount a charge. Her only birdie of the day came on hole No. 18.
- Mack (72-71-76/219) earned a top-10 finish to close out the tournament in a tie for sixth overall.
- The Berlin, Germany, native fired off a consistent 35 pars over the three days, recording the third most pars of any player in the field.
- Senior Angelica Moresco, who played at the demanding Blessings Golf Club during 2019 NCAA Women's Golf Championships, turned in her course-best round at 2-over par 74.
- Moresco charted an eagle on hole No. 5 to finish the tournament tied for 39th (79-79-74/232).
- Sophomore Emilie Øverås had a few hiccups in the opening round, but recovered well, posting even-par 72 on the final day.
- The sophomore made an 11-stroke improvement from the first to third round, finishing tied for 47th (83-80-72/235).
- Also finishing tied for 47th was graduate student Kenzie Wright (75-80-80/235).
- Sophomore Caroline Curtis (81-79-23/242) rounds out the Crimson Tide lineup tied for 60th place in the season debut.
