
Kenzie Wright Paces Alabama Women’s Golf in Round One of The Ally

It was her 22nd Crimson Tide collegiate round at par or better with a 1-under par 71
WEST POINT, Miss. – Kenzie Wright of the Alabama women's golf team carded a 1-under par 71, Monday to pace the Crimson Tide in the opening round of The Ally at the Old Waverly Golf Club.
Alabama is currently tied for eighth place with the Blessings Collegiate Invitational champions, Arkansas, with a 6-over par 294. The Tide is just one stroke off tournament host Mississippi State with a 5-over par 293, while Florida leads the 15-team field at 8-under par 280.
Leading the Lineup
- After making a quarterfinal run at the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship in 2019, Kenzie Wight returned to Old Waverly Golf Club with a 1-under par 71 in a tie for 10th.
- It was her 22nd Crimson Tide collegiate round at par or better with a field-leading 13 pars on the day.
- The Frisco, Texas, native carded all three of her birdies on her final nine holes heading into the clubhouse.
- Mack posted another consistent round of 1-over par 73 and is tied for 28th. She ranks second among all 75 players in the opening round on the par-four (3.80 -2).
- Emilie Øverås opened the morning with a double bogey but recovered well with a birdie on her second hole. She finished the day with four birdies and fired home a score of 2-over par 74 to sit just behind Mack in a tie for 31st.
- Angelica Moresco is tied for 46th overall after the first 18 holes with a 4-over par 76.
- Michaela Morard made her Crimson Tide debut at 15-over par 87.
