
Alabama Women’s Tennis Alum Alexa Guarachi Powers Through to the Third Round of the French Open

Guarachi, along with doubles partner Desirae Krawczyk, downed Lauren Davis and Sabrina Santamaria in three sets, sweeping the final two for the win
PARIS – Former University of Alabama women's tennis player Alexa Guarachi continued her run at the French Open Friday, notching a second-round victory with her doubles partner Desirae Krawczyk.
Guarachi and Krawczyk followed their round-one sweep of Storm Sanders and Ellen Perez with a three-set victory over Lauren Davis and Sabrina Santamaria, 2-6, 6-3, 6-1. After dropping the first set, Guarachi and Krawczyk went on to dominate the final two sets for the win. This marks the second time that Guarachi has advanced to the third round of a Grand Slam tournament, having also done so at the 2019 U.S. Open.
Guarachi and Krawczyk, seeded 14th, will continue their run in the third round of the tournament this weekend, attempting to advance to the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam for the first time in their careers.
