Alabama Track & Field Opens 2020 Indoor Season at UAB Blazer Invitational

Crimson Tide set for first meet of the season Friday morning
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – University of Alabama track & field will open the 2020 indoor season at UAB's Blazer Invitational Friday morning at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Action begins with field events at 9 a.m. CT, and track events start at 10:35 a.m. for the one-day meet.

About Alabama
- A total of 31 women and 18 men are slated to compete this weekend.
- Among those competing this weekend are 11 freshmen slated to make their Crimson Tide indoor debut.
- Alabama returns five Indoor All-Americans from a season ago, including Bobby Colantonio Jr. (Weight Throw) for the men and women sprinters Katie Funcheon (4x400 Relay), Natassha McDonald (4x400 Relay), Takyera Roberson (4x400 Relay) and Tamara Clark (200m, 60m).
- Last season, the Crimson Tide women finished seventh and the men placed eighth at the NCAA Indoor Championships. The men and women finished in the top-10 at the indoor championships, marking just the second time in school history that both teams finished in the top-10.
- Junior Tamara Clark holds the 300m dash record at the UAB Blazer Invitational after crossing the finish line first with a time 37.01.
