
Alexa Guarachi Set to Begin Play in the Australian Open

The former Alabama standout will play in her seventh consecutive Grand Slam
MELBOURNE, Australia – Former Alabama women's tennis standout Alexa Guarachi will begin doubles play with partner Kaitlyn Christian in the 2020 Australian Open in Melbourne, Australia on Wednesday. The time in the duo's match against Bara/Alexandrova is still to be determined.
Most recently, Guarachi moved up to a career-best No. 54 in the world in the latest Women's Tennis Association Doubles Rankings released earlier today.
In her last Grand Slam appearance, Guarachi made it all the way to the Round of 16 in doubles of the 2019 U.S. Open in August. The two doubles wins were the first Grand Slam victories of her career. She has also competed in the 2019 Wimbledon, 2019 French Open, 2019 Australian Open, 2018 U.S. Open and 2018 Wimbledon.
