High school juniors will have the opportunity to learn in-depth about the Alabama program
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama rowing team will host the first annual Junior Day on Monday, February 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. CT. This event will be held on the University of Alabama campus and open strictly to juniors in high school.
The purpose of Junior Day is to give rising seniors the opportunity to learn about what is involved in being a Division I rowing student-athlete at the University of Alabama.
"We look forward to showcasing everything UA has to offer, both academically and athletically," head coach Glenn Putyrae said. "We truly believe that Alabama provides all the tools an athlete needs to be a champion in the classroom and on the water and we can't wait for these young athletes to see that for themselves."
Throughout the day, the university coaches and team members will provide an introduction and tour of the boathouse and practice facilities, info sessions with support staff, a tour of the campus, and a chance to ask questions directly to current rowers. Lunch will be provided and will require $15 per person in cash upon arrival.
Participants may also have the option to watch practice on the water from 6 – 8 a.m. and/or on land from either 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. or 5 – 6 p.m.
