
Alabama Women's Golf in Third After Opening Day of Schooner Fall Classic

Polly Mack leads the way on day one with 1-under par 69
NORMAN, Okla. – Junior Polly Mack carded 1-under par 69 on Friday to lead the Alabama women's golf team in the opening round of the Schooner Fall Classic at Belmar Golf Club. The Crimson Tide currently sit in third place as a team with a season-best round of 284 after the first 18 holes of the 54-hole event.
The Crimson Tide will be aiming for its third consecutive Schooner Fall Classic team title entering Saturday's second round just two strokes back of clubhouse leader and tournament host Oklahoma (282) and one stroke behind No. 2 Texas (283).
A Look at the Alabama Lineup
- In the first round, UA carded two rounds of par or better on the par-70, 6,048-yard course.
- Junior Polly Mack paced the Crimson Tide, as she finished the day tied for fourth overall with a 1-under par 69. She totaled a team-leading 13 pars and three birdies in Friday's opening round.
- Senior Kenzie Wright recorded her fourth round of par or better for the season with an even par 70 and stands tied for 10th.
- Junior Angelica Moresco is tied for 19th after posting a 2-over par 72.
- Freshman Caroline Curtis, playing just her fourth collegiate round, turned in a 3-over par 73 and is currently in a tie for 28th.
- Emilie Øverås, a freshman playing in her second collegiate tournament, is tied for 71st with an 8-over-par 78.
