Crimson Tide returns to Belmar Golf Club to defend Schooner Fall Classic title starting Friday
TUSCALOOSA Ala. – The Alabama women's golf team is set to compete at the Schooner Fall Classic, Sept. 27-29, at the Belmar Golf Club in Norman, Okla. for the fourth consecutive season. The Crimson Tide won last year's tournament with a NCAA record 45-under par performance (272-262-273/807).
The Crimson Tide will get underway at 10:40 a.m. CT on Friday morning along with Baylor and Miami.
Tournament Info
- The 15-team field includes, No. 25 Alabama, Baylor, Clemson, No. 13 Florida State, Houston, No. 19 Illinois, Louisville, Miami, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, TCU, No. 2 Texas, Texas A&M and Texas State.
- Teams will play a total of 54 holes, 18 each on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the par-70, 6,048-yard course.
- TV Coverage will be provided by Fox Sports Southwest and Fox College Sports Central on Friday only from noon to 3 p.m. CT.
About Alabama
- Alabama's starting five include senior Kenzie Wright, juniors Polly Mack and Angelica Moresco, and freshmen Caroline Curtis and Emilie Øverås.
- The 24th-ranked Crimson Tide opened the 2019-20 season at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, finishing eighth overall (295-294-292) among a field that featured 11 teams ranked among the top-25 in the nation.
- Wright posted a top-10 finish, tying for eighth with a 2-under par 214 (71-71-72). The senior totaled a team-leading 13 birdies and led the tournament field on par 3 averages (2.92) at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate.
- A year ago, Alabama (272-262-273/807) cruised to a 17-shot win over runner-up Texas (272-272-280/824), which finished at 28-under at the 2018 Schooner Fall Classic.
- The Crimson Tide shot 11-under par in the final round to finish the tournament at 45-under and break the NCAA record for team score vs. par by four shots.
- Junior Angelica Moresco (71-65-70/206) tied for eighth at 7-under and junior Kenzie Wright (72-72-69/213) tied for 32nd at even par.

Following the Schooner Fall Classic, the Crimson Tide will be back in action on Oct. 11-13 when they travel to Chapel Hill, N.C. for the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational at Finley Golf Course.
