Alabama and the Golden Eagles will meet for the 44th time on Saturday in Tuscaloosa
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – After an off day on Monday, Alabama returned to the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields Tuesday afternoon to begin preparations for Saturday's home contest with Southern Miss.
Saturday's matchup with the Southern Miss Golden Eagles at Bryant-Denny Stadium will air on ESPN2 at 11 a.m. CT with Roy Philpott and Kelly Stouffer in the booth and Lauren Sisler working the sidelines.
In the afternoon on Tuesday, junior quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was named the Maxwell Award Player of the Week and one of the eight Manning Award Stars of the Week for his performance at South Carolina on Sept. 14. The junior signal-caller threw for 444 yards and five touchdowns on 28-of-36 passing in the Tide's 47-23 victory. With his day in Columbia, Tagovailoa became the first quarterback in Alabama history to throw for 400-plus yards and five touchdowns in the same game.
